Got this yesterday on my craigslist ad:
------
Dear RV Owner,
My name is John Wiebe, and I am the new consignment manager and sales consultant at Auto Yard Shop & Consignment in California. I was writing to you regarding your 1996 Jayco Eagle that you had listed on Craigslist. This is a beautiful little motor home, and thought that perhaps we can be of assistance to you.
I understand that most people's first reaction to the word "consignment" can be negative, but there are lots of positive reasons to consider consignment to sell your RV:
* Full service staff, fully trained and available 7 days a week- No more arranging your schedule to meet with buyers.
* Listings with pictures on largest national RV website in the U.S.
* Finance department to help potential buyers pay for your RV.
* Get top dollar for your RV- No more haggling and dealing with lowball offers from Craigslist buyers. Let our experts get you what you deserve!
* We inspect your RV before being listed, offering customers 100% insurance of getting the right RV.
* Online security: Our website is HTTPS Secured, which means your information transmitted in a safe enviorment.
We average 300-350 consignments per year. While we deal with many new lines, online consignment sales has been, and continues to be the heart of Auto Yard Shop & Consignment. Give me a call and let's see how we can help you out!

Question: Is this a scam? I am selling a RV on Craigslist and got this message which seems like a scam. I didn't even accessed the website, who knows what I may find there. Not wise to click on links from emails coming from people you don't know.

It's not a scam!
I've got similar messages from different agents from Auto Yard Shop & Consignment over time. Didn't sell anything through them but they are legit.

I read over their website, seems to be safe, a friend of mine confirmed that.
Still, seems to me that if I leave the trailer with them, I would have to find a buyer then they would sell it to whoever wants to buy it unseen.
Will this work? Has anybody else sold anything through this people? How's the process?

Based on my experience they provide an excellent service for both buyers and sellers. I've purchased from Auto Yard Shop consignment last summer, it was a boat we still use and we had no problems with it ever since we've purchased it.
They are definetely not scammers, but for new users or some of their practices may have someone think otherwise.

Haven't dealt with them myself, but I have a friend who needed a new car after an accident. He didn't know what he wanted, so he started to search online and found one sold by Auto Yard Shop & Consignment.
He ended up getting a slightly used Dodge from across the country (at another Auto Yard Shop & Consignment location) that they shipped over at no cost as they stated. He wouldn't have to buy the car once it arrived. He had it inspected, and did end up buying it. He paid around $20k for a 15,000 mile loaded model, and he's been very happy with it (except for the fact that he could fit a bigger piece of luggage in his former cars trunk than the Dodge's).
Good luck

Are you saying that they ship anywhere in US for no extra fees? Even if I am in New York and I find a car in California? This is too good to be true and hard to believe.
Shipping a vehicle, no matter how small, accross country can be extremely costly, so where's their profit in that?

I do agree with your points.
But they are selling mostly on Classified websites like Craigslist, which are local. No one in their right mind would even search for a vehicle and try to buy it from New York to California because the sites are local and the search criteria is based on their location.
If by any chance that would happen, they would ship because I haven't yet heard of a case where someone purchased anything from autoyard.shop and they charged extra.
No one was ever charged more than the price itself and everyone that used this website knows this as a fact.

Actually that makes sense. According to their website, there are no shipping fees or additional fees except the $200 sellers pay to have their vehicles prepared for sale and buyers pay only the DMV license and registration fees, which seems more than fair.
Other than that there are no hidden or additional fees.

The whole Auto Yard Shop & Consignment concept makes sense if you study their terms. II believe their website is more than user friendly and although there is a lot of information someone has to digest at first, they have it very well structured and accessible.
You can find out everything you need to know just bylooking at their how it works page.

Actually I can confirm.
We've purchased a tractor in November 2013 from the same website under the same circumstances.
We were looking for a good reliable tractor, contacted a few people and one of them was selling his through this website. The problem was that the tractor was held at their locaton in California and we live in Fort Collins, Colorado.
I don't know how I ended up finding a tractor in CA in the first place I don't know, I just searched tractor on google and found an ad on Craigslist.
We looked at thieir website and saw that they would ship for free, so we contacted one of their slaes rep which confirmed. They also explained the procedure which we found to be very straight forward and completed the sale.
They delivered the tractor 4 days later, as stated, and I could even send it back during the 7 Day money back guarantee they had. So if shipping heavy equipment from CA to CO for free can be possible, I guess they could ship nationwide.
