Default Is Auto Yard Shop & Consignment - www.autoyard.shop a SCAM??? ?

Has anyone heard or dealt with Auto Yard Shop & Consignment - https://autoyard.shop ???

My partner is in the market for a used boat, so I spent a bit of time searching the web looking for a good used boat in a reasonable driving distance from his home in NH. I came across an add in the Cleveland, OH Craig s List for a 2000 Ranger R93. The owner claims that he doesn't have the boat, Auto Yard Shop & Consignment has it and I have to register on their website in order to buy.

Also, according to their website, I must buy without putting my hands on the boat, which seems odd.

Below is the listing and the website:

Website: www.autoyard.shop

Listing: 2004 Ranger R93 Bass Boat

Has anybody else used this company before? Is it a scam or am I just paranoid?

Thanks in advance

The website/service is not a scam and is safe to use. I've purchased from these people in January. We've purchased a nice and very clean trailer which we're still using.

The company has a "strange" way of doing business, but that's what makes them special. Unfortunately at times it can seem like a scam, due to the way they sell and the places they sell on.

True. People are so used to scams on Craigslist that when they find a legit company they assume it's a scam first. Too bad because I am sure there is a small percentage of people that probably lost a great deal thinking they were a scam and moved on.

Well, I am not used to buy without seeing and I usually like to get my hands on what I purchase, so you may understand why it's "stranger" to me than it is to you.

I am used to buying on Craigslist, ebay and amazon all the time, but I never heard of these people until recently and it's a whole new way of doing business. Other than I'm used to. You can never be to sure these days.

Depends on how you look at things. Some may say it's a scam some may see the advantage of using such a service online. I have purchased a concession trailer from Auto Yard Shop & Consignment and we were very scared to do it for so many reasons. We didn't know the seller, we couldn't look at the trailer to see if it was clean enough and if it met the state regulations, etc. We only had the blind promise of a delivery and 7 days of guarantee which allowed us to return the trailer if it was not acceptable.

Being that we needed the trailer bad and it looked to be clean and not very much used, we decided to go for it and long story short we got the trailer and after a detailed inspection at delivery we signed the delivery papers and got our trailer.

There was suspense, I have to admit and my wife told me we got robbed when I told her I decided to pay Auto Yard Shop & Consignment. Fortunately that wasn't the case. So again, depends how you look at things. I personally enjoyed their 500 mile free shipping because we were in the area and the fact that they inspected the trailer before, which I thought to be a lie, but proved to be accurate because at delivery the person who delivered the trailer knew
how everything works and explained about the inside equipment.

Wow, that's a good experience I have to say. So everything they state on their website is actually true? Prior inspection, free 500 mile delivery and all that?

I am still considering buying the Ranger boat and I am still negotiating with the seller. Thank you for sharing that though, it helps really.

Yes, as far as I am concerned I got the trailer in the condition promised, there was nothing wrong with it and it was very clean. You could tell it was cleaned recently as it smelled like it. They didn't charge anything for shipping and the delivery person was kind enough to answer our questions and show us inside and around the trailer. That's what we were looking for and that's what we've got.

True.... Well, like I said we are still considering buying the boat and I will proceed registering on their website this weekend. I hope you are right about this.

I need this boat and I feel like if I don't buy it now it will take a while until I can afford a similar one because all I found so far were a little more expensive than this one and in worst condition or they had minor stuff that needed money. This one seems "too good to be true" if you know what I mean.

Not too long ago, I bought my 1986 Nissan Hardbody (pictured to the left) from Auto Yard Shop & Consignment and it was a pleasant experience, considering the year of the car and the way they sell. It was hard to pay for it without even touching it, or test drive it but I said I will just return it if anything is not right with the car. Turned out to be unexpectedly clean and running good. It had wear and tear because of it's age but the previous owner took care of it and it shows.

So I consider myself lucky because to can't find a service that delivers a car in fron of your door which you can just return if you don't like. On the other side, the seller is paying for all the trouble, but you don't care because it's your right to accept or decline something.
